You Gotta Start Somewhere, the first poetry CD for Philip Santos Schaffer and Angelica Lacey, is an idea that started at some point between a 13 hour road trip to North Carolina and a back porch in Uniondale, New York; when two young poets, powered by caffeine and cigarettes, decided that they too wanted to, well, start somewhere. After several nights that stretched ‘til 4 in the morning, they ended up with the idea for a live poetry show that would result in a CD; the somewhere they were going to start from. So welcome to it: the spot from which we’re starting, a night of live poetry, music, photography, and Phil complaining about his ex-girlfriends. We look forward to starting here with you, and having you along for the ride.
We invite you to join Phillip and Angelia as they perform a large selection of their work on April 22nd.
All non-vocal noises were created by Matthew Fishman.
